This site was designed
to display and sell old fashioned fonts for
graphic designers and sign artists. It includes
a simple shopping cart system. It is a fairly
extensive site involving a help section, and
examples of each font and all characters.
The goal was to create a site that reflected
the old fashioned style of the fonts. An old
fashioned logo was created and many scrolls
and graphics true to the period were used
to complete the effect.
To sell the fonts
there were several methods:
- A Design Gallery, showing what people
acutally made with the fonts. What better
testimonial is there than actually seeing
the fonts at work?
- Create a font testor using Flash. This way
the visitor can try the fonts first before
they decide to purchase.
- A monthly opt-in email newsletter to
announce all new fonts and discounted
packages.
Due to the depth and wealth of information there is about fonts, from installation
to text effects and layout patterns, sections
were added as a resource for the visitor to
use so they will keep coming back.
Some of those
sections are:
tips and tricks, books, frequently asked questions,
and free downloads.
Each one is an additional reason to keep coming
back to visit, thus providing more opportunities
for sales. |
